Dry Idea - A Great Idea!

It's hot!  Really, really hot! 111 degrees hot!  So when I was offered the opportunity to test a new antiperspirant I jumped at the chance!  This heat will put it through the ultimate test!

Let me tell you about Dry Idea.

  • Unscented and Powder Fresh with Minerals (2.6 oz.)

  • Dry Idea Hypoallergenic and Extra Effective (48 hour odor and 24 hour wetness protection)

  • The new Dry Idea invisible solids provide Clinical Level Wetness Protection without additional ‘clinical’ packaging or cost. It is also formulated with Vitamin E for silky smooth glide. The Unscented is truly fragrance free and great for sensitive skin, while Powder Fresh has Moisture-Absorbing Minerals that offer protection and lets skin breathe.

Dry Idea is availabe in Clear Gel, Invisible Solid, or Roll-On.  I was given the Roll-On to test.  I'm not a big fan of Roll-On, I think it's sticky.  Well, Dry Idea is completely different.  It went on smooth and then dried very smooth.  It almost felt like silk.  I was very impressed with the feel!

Now to put it to the outside test! I actually chopped some tumbleweeds (in this heat).  Dry Idea did a great job!  It worked and kept on working throughout the day.  I did not "offend" all day!

I'm pretty impressed with this product!

If that's not enough, the Dry Idea folks are running a great sweepstakes!  You know I love a great sweepstakes!  There are $1000 in prizes!  A $500 Grand Prize and ten $50 2nd place prizes!  You can enter here! Hurry though, contest ends July 13th!

    Kooza!

My husband and I had the opportunity to see the Cirque Du Soleil show, Kooza.  I was truly speechless through most of the show, and that's something for me!

When we arrived we were excited to see a big white tent set up right in the parking lot of the stadium.  It was so fun to see that, and we were excited to see what was inside!  We were a little worried though, because we live in Arizona and it is June, and hot... so very hot.  We were very relieved to feel how cool and comfortable it was inside!  The minute we stepped inside we felt like we were in another world.

We were very close to the stage (there is not a bad seat in the house!).  While waiting for the show to start my director's mind was checking out the rigging and the set and staging.  I was so impressed with all of it!

Then the show started and I forgot all about the rigging, the staging, and the set.  I was instantly swept away in the story, and the acts.  I felt like a little girl all over again as I watched the acts.  Every one of them was amazing!  I particularly loved the high wire act.  I even gasped out loud several times during their act and also the Wheel of Death!

Thank goodness for intermission so I could catch my breath and calm my quickly beating heart.  Oh, and did I mention they had cupcakes?  Beautiful, delicious cupcakes!

We enjoyed the whole evening and are still talking about it with anyone who will listen!  If you get a chance, go see Cirque Du Soleil Kooza!

    Where Are Mike and Ike?

I love a good contest!  I love candy!  So when you combine the two, I'm all over that!

Let me tell you about a fun contest going on, that you can enter!  It's called "Where Are Mike and Ike?"

If you've eaten some delicious Mike and Ike candy lately (if not, get busy!  They're delicious!) you'll notice that either Mike or Ike's name is crossed out.  That because they've split to follow their true passions.  Mike is a musician and is rumored to be producing a CD; Ike's an artist and lover of art.

Hence, the contest!  You can enter by visiting the  Mike and Ike Tumblr page.

When you visit the Mike and Ike facebook page you can get a clue that will help you answer a question. Each Tuesday and Friday, a new question will appear on the contest page.

"Participants can earn points by answering the questions correctly, sending tweets about the contest, liking the MIKE AND IKE® Facebook page and emailing up to five (5) friends per day requesting that they enter the contest (points are awarded only after the friend participates).

After July 11th, the one (1) participant with the highest number of points will receive an Apple iPod Touch. Four (4) second prize winners will each receive an Apple iPod Shuffle. Fifteen (15) third prize winners will each receive a box of twenty four (24) 1.8 oz bags of MIKE AND IKE® Original Fruits™ and a MIKE AND IKE® t-shirt.

In addition, each week there will be a random drawing that will award any of the participants a MIKE AND IKE® t-shirt and a box of twenty four (24) 1.8 oz bags of MIKE AND IKE® Original Fruits™"

Sounds like fun, doesn't it!  So pop on over to www.mikeandikebrand.tumblr.com

    Good Luck!

    Cheerios!

If you know me you know I love bargains!  I also need to be efficient and organized to get everything done that needs to be done.  So, how do I combine the two?  One of the ways is to buy in bulk.  But this presents storage problems.  Especially, for cereal.  Once I open a humungo box of cereal, it will go stale faster and the box is usually pretty unwieldy.

Enter Cheerios!  They have some brand-new packaging that solves these dilemmas!  New 2 box Cheerios contains two boxes, that makes it easier to store, easier to pour, and I'm not left with a huge box of stale cereal.

    Some other benefits include:
    • By reducing the amount of air in each individual bag, these enhanced containers fit 10% more cereal than before and use less packaging
    • While each box contains more cereal, packaging material has been reduced by over 200,000 lbs, saving 1,000 trees and taking 130 Cheerios trucks of the road, decreasing CO2 emissions

I love the new packaging! The first time I got a little vigorous and tore a little piece of my box, but after I realized I didn't need to be Hercules, they were very easy to use.  I love that box is easier to pour than the other behemoth boxes.  No more spills from my kids!  Way to go Cheerios!

So do I have you craving some Cheerios?  Well, two, count 'em two, lucky winners will each win (2) new 2 box Cheerios packaging (four boxes)!  Cool, huh!

    Thanks Stanley Steemer!

We live in the desert.  Now, don't get me wrong... I love where I live!  But to say my home gets dusty and dirty, is an understatement!  My carpets were looking so yucky that I didn't want to walk on them, let alone sit on the floor.  Enter Stanely Steemer!  I was offered the opportunity to have them come clean my carpets.  Can I have a woot! woot!

I was almost embarassed to have them come out (almost).  But the drive for clean carpets outweighed my embarassment at how dirty they were.  I made an appontment online at www.StanleySteemer.com which was super easy to do.  I got an online quote so there were no surprises.

The day arrived for the cleaning.  There was very little prep work on my part, just removing knick knacks and such, no heavy lifting.  The Stanley Steemer team arrived right when they said they would and got right to work.  They didn't even make a face about how dirty my carpets were!  They were completely professional and put me right at ease.

My carpets look fantastic!  Now I remember why I picked this carpet in the first place, it's actually nice looking once it's clean!  I love walking on my carpet, and I even sit on it again!  Even my teenage daughter commented on how nice the carpets looked!  I know, I was shocked too!

Check out this video about another Stanley Steemer customer's experience:

I bet you want to get your carpets clean now, right?  Well, one of you lucky readers can win a $100 gift certificate from Stanley Steemer!  Pretty cool!

Walmart and Pillsbury - A Great Combination!

I'm always on the look out for a great deal!  Couple that with my love for finding and trying new recipes, and then add in Walmart and Pillsbury and you've got a great combination!

I recently had the opportunity to learn about the Pillsbury Bake-Off website.  What amazing recipes I found there!  After spending quite a while surfing and drooling, I settled on trying the French Dip Roll.  I printed off the recipe and headed to Walmart.

I found the greatest deals there!  As usual, I ended up with all the stuff I needed, plus more!  I love to find great deals and my cart was full of them!  So, here is the original recipe I tried:
    INGREDIENTS
1 can Pillsbury® refrigerated crusty French loaf
1 lb sliced roast beef (from deli)
6 oz fontina cheese, shredded (1 1/2 cups)
    4 tablespoons LAND O LAKES® Butter
    1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    1 tablespoon McCormick® Basil Leaves
2 tablespoons Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
1can (18.5 oz) Progresso® Vegetable Classics French onion soup

    DIRECTIONS

1 Heat oven to 350°F. Carefully unroll loaf of dough. Place half of roast beef slices over dough to within 1/2 inch of 1 long side. Sprinkle with fontina cheese; top with remaining roast beef. Starting on long side with filling, roll up. Press seam firmly to seal. Place diagonally, seam side down, on ungreased 15x10-inch pan with sides. In small microwavable bowl, microwave 2 tablespoons of the butter on High 15 to 20 seconds or until melted. Brush over loaf; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and basil. 2 Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cover with aluminum foil; bake an additional 10 minutes. 3 Meanwhile, to make dipping sauce, in 2-quart saucepan, melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Stir in flour with wire whisk. Cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in soup with wire whisk. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Reduce to simmer; cook until thickened, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. 4 Remove loaf from oven. Cool 5 minutes. Cut into 6 slices. Serve with dipping sauce.

I substituted Swiss Cheese slices for the Fontina Cheese and did not use the Basil on top.
The recipe was really easy, the only slighty tricky part was unrolling the French Loaf dough.
This is as we are adding the swiss cheese.
It's ready to go in the oven!

Sadly, there is no picture of the finished product, we got too excited and ate it before we remembered to take a picture of it!  It was really delicious and definitely a recipe we will be using again and again!

Not only was it easy, but with the great deals I found at Walmart, it was  inexpensive! Check out the great deals yourself at everydaysaver.com/Walmart.

Want to try this recipe or one of the others you can find at www.BakeOff.com ?  How about a $25 gift card to Walmart to help buy the ingredients?  Well, one of you lucky readers can win one!  Cool!

Veggie Tales, You've Done it Again!

Veggie Tales make me giggle out loud, sometimes even guffaw!  Now, they've done it again! Let me introduce Veggie Tales:  Robin Good and His Not-So-Merry Men.

In a nutshell, Robin Good and his best friends fundraise from the rich to give to the poor, (over-priced candy bar anyone?)  But without spoiling the plot, the greedy prince does some dastardly deeds regarding ham, which causes donations to go down.  Robin's best friends decide this is a good time to start doing some robbing of their own.  Robin is hurt that his friends have deserted him.  To make matters worse, the prince has captured his friends!

I love that Veggie Tales is so much fun to watch and teaches a great lesson.  This one is on dealing with hurt and learning to forgive.  There is great music, funny jokes and a terrific moral taught.

As a bonus, there is a short included on the DVD called Lenny and the Lost Birthday.  More Veggie Tale fun!
I definitely recommend Veggie Tales:  Robin Good and His Not-So-Merry Men!

Well, now that you're excited about this DVD, how'd you like to win one of your own?  One of your amazing readers will have that chance!  Cool, huh?

    Mandatory Entry:
Please leave me a comment telling me one of your favorite characters from Veggie Tales or your favorite Silly Song.  Personally, I love the Cebu song!  Please include your email in the comment if it's not visible in your profile (jane smith at yahoo dot com)
