Cars 2!

My son and I had the opportunity to see Cars 2!  Boy, did we have fun!  Not only did we get to have time together, just the two of us... but we thoroughly enjoyed this movie!  We saw it in 3D which just enhanced the whole experience!

"Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car.  But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage.  Mater finds himself torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret mission orchestrated by master British super spy Finn McMissile (voice of Michael Caine) and the stunning rookie field spy Holley Shiftwell (voice of Emily Mortimer).  Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world.  The fast-paced fun includes a colorful new all-car cast, complete with menacing villains and international racing competitors."

I asked my son who his favorite car was, he loved them all!  He couldn't pick one!  I'm partial to Mater (always have been) but Finn McMissile is pretty amazing!  The film kept me entertained and my son on the edge of his seat!  The race scenes were spectacular and I love Disney Digitial 3D!  I highly recommend this movie!  I think one of my favorite scenes was the opening.  Without spoiling it, I'll say it's everything a good spy show should be!

Grab your kids, grab your car keys, and head out to see Cars 2!  You'll be glad you did!

Simply Potatoes - Simply Wonderful!

We love potatoes!  All potatoes!  It's one of our go-to foods!  So when Simply Potatoes offered us the opportunity to try some of their products, we were pretty excited!

We picked the Diced Potatoes with Onion and the Southwest Style Hash Browns to try!  The day that they arrived, my daughter ripped into the Diced Potatoes with Onion and immediately started cooking them.

She sliced in some ham and some bell peppers (we love bell peppers) and we had a quick, delicious meal.  Is there a picture of it?  No, because the darn kids ate it all while I ran to the store to grab some ice cream!  I guess I can't complain... my daughter made the meal all herself.  But I can complain, because they didn't save me any!  All I can tell you, is the house smelled amazing!

I still held out hope that I could try the Southwest Style Hash Browns... (you see where this is going right?)

Saturday morning I ran out to a very early morning meeting and when I came home the house again smelled delicious!  I hungrily went over to the stove and saw that my husband had made a skillet breakfast with the Southwest Style Hash Browns.  Well, what I actually saw was two spoonfuls left for me to try.  To their credit, they had tried to save me some, until my son, not knowing their plan, got up and finished it almost all off.  There were two bites left, because they caught him before those went in his mouth too!  I know.... do you feel sorry for me yet?

Hubby threw in the Simply Potatoes Hashbrowns with eggs, cheese, and some sausage we had left over from our homemade pizza night.  Sounds mouth-wateringly good doesn't it... sadly, I can't confirm it!

So, this review is from my hubby and kids.  They gave Simply Pototoes a huge thumbs up!  I did too, because it inspired my daughter and my husband to cook!  That's a huge bonus!

Simply Potatoes comes in lots of taste-tempting varieties.  Check them out here!  An added bonus, if  you visit the Simply Potatoes website, you can enter a contest to win a free year of Simply Potatoes!  Enter the contest here!

You lucky readers also have an opportunity to win a coupon for your own Simply Pototoes! Just be around when they get cooked!

CVS Photo - A great idea for Father's Day!

Father's Day is right around the corner!  Are you stumped for an idea for Dad?  Let me tell you about CVS Photo!  CVSPhoto is a great resource for gifts for that amazing man in your life. It could be a favorite coffee/travel mug personalized with a picture of the family, or a calendar that highlights family vacations, birthdays and holidays throughout the year.   CVSPhoto Center is a great resource for Father’s Day gifts.

CVS Photo gifts can be created in minutes, in-store or online at www.cvsphoto.com.  I ordered my photo mug online.  It was a very simple process, and very quick.  Then I could either have it shipped to me or delivered to the store.  I chose the store, and it was ready in about a day.  How quick is that?

I got to choose the photos I wanted to put on it, then preview it before I submitted the order!  I'll show you a picture of it after Father's Day, cuz we're filling it with some other fun things for Dad and giving it to him on Sunday!  Not that he reads the blog too often, but I don't want to completely spoil the surprise!

Not a mug type person?  Well, CVS Photo has lots of options!  Here's just a few:

How about an apron for that BBQ King!

I think all Dad's love T-shirts!  How about one with some personalized photos on them?  Even better!

How about a mouse pad?  Now, everytime Dad's on his computer he'll think of you!
There are a lot more ideas at CVS Photo!  Go take a look!  Father's Day is just a few days away, but there's still time!  You can still order online and pick up in the store, or, for those last-minute in-store orders, you just need to bring in your photos in any media format (USB, memory cards, CDs, etc.) to a CVS/pharmacy photo kiosk to create prints, cards and photo books ready to be taken home the same day.   Can they make it any easier!

Quick, go check out CVS Photo!  I love them and was completely satisfied with the whole process, from designing, to ordering, to picking up, to the amazing finished product!  (Picture coming soon... no peeking, honey!

Hawaiin Kettle Style Chips - Aloha!

I love chips, almost all kinds of chips!  But I had never tried Kettle Style Chips.  Enter Hawaiian Kettle Style Chips!
The family and I had an opportunity to try several flavors of Hawaiian Style Kettle Chips.  Yum!  We started with the Original Flavor.  I loved the crunch and the taste, just the right amount of salty!  These are my new go-to chips!

Next we tried the Wasabi.  One chip sent my son and I running to the kitchen for water!  These babies are spicy!  These were my husband's favorite chips.  He loves these things.  A little too hot for me, but he now looks for these all the time in the store.  My daughter liked them alot too.  I guess my son and I are Wasabi wimps!

After my taste buds settled down we went for the Luau BBQ next.  I really like these, though they have a bit of kick to them also.  They are just the right amount of sweet and spicy!  These were my daughter's favorites.  I really enjoyed them, but I kept water handy!
These were my second favorite, almost a tie for first!  I loved the onion flavor!  It was just right, not too overpowering!  These are great chips!  My son absolutely loved these!  I had to keep looking for the bag, because he kept sneaking them into his room.

Hawaiian Kettle Style Chips are made with real potatoes that are sliced and then slow cooked in a select blend of oils!  These really are good chips!  I highly recommend them, though you may have to buy several different flavors to please everyone in your family!

You can purchase them online at www.hawaiianbrandsnacks.com.  They really are delicious!  Try them and find out for yourself!  But be warned... that Wasabi is hot!!
